Yesterday marked the final performance of Central High School’s production of “The Wiz.” The show went on amidst this past weekend’s snowy weather. While the temperature was dropping, Central’s auditorium was hot with talent and lively music.
The production, under the direction of Central English teacher and Drama Club advisor Annamarie Lee, was a adaptation from "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum. The 26 cast members and 20 crew members showcased their talents while presenting a fun, modern spin on a classic story.
“I chose ‘The Wiz’ for this year's production because it is such a fun, upbeat show with a strong message about friendship and life's journey for the audience,” Lee said. “It teaches us that no matter where we go in life and no matter how twisted and dark our paths may become, the most important part is the people who support us along the way.”
