Bridgeport Public Schools - "Expect Great Things."
Home

Since 1992 the parents of Bridgeport have had an oasis for family and community development through the Bridgeport Parent Center .   The Parent Center serves as a gateway, gathering place and replenishing station for Parent Involvement. The center offers parents a comfortable, friendly, and supportive environment for self-enrichment by the enhancement of life, education and employment skills.  This city-wide resource is made possible through the State Priority District Grant under the leadership of the Bridgeport School system’s Federal and State Programs office.  Although grant funding is limited the Center has implemented, maintained and expanded initiatives via creative collaborations, partnerships and networks.

A focal point of the Parent Center is the Ed Tech Academy, which offers over 20 workshop courses beginning with the “Orientation to the Personal Computer” to familiarize parents in the district with the use of technology.  Additionally, to promote a connection between parents and their children, along with the school district, the course entitled, “Supporting your Child’s Academic Growth” is a popular and highly successful choice. For approximately 15 years this parent initiated, family centered and child friendly environment has worked with families to enhance our community.
